2022 Gold Rush Competition

January 28-30, 2022 http://tuscazoar.org/events/gold-rush/

The Gold Rush will include:

  • Trail-side stations requiring outdoor skills
  • Saturday breakfast and dinner
  • Free tent camping (cabins are extra)
  • Unique Gold Rush patch
  • Campfire program

The 2022 Gold Rush competition is just around the corner and, unlike last year, this will be a full camping event.

Eight stations will cover a variety of scout skills. They could include anything from map reading and compass work to astronomy. We will also be doing three Gold Rush rubbings at various locations in camp to subtract time off of the total score. As always, please remember it is not who finishes first, but who finishes fastest.

Most of the buildings have been rented but tent sites are still available. You can also join us just for the day if you wish.

The event will include a camp patch, breakfast and dinner on Saturday, a campfire program, awards ceremony and all the Saturday activities. The cost for the event is $25 per attendee.

We are asking each participating troop to donate one prize for the Saturday evening auction. This can be turned in at check-in.

Thanks to Spenser Long, program director, for planning the event this year.

Due to limited parking at camp, please plan to car pool if possible.

Tent sites are free for the weekend.  Cabin fees are additional.  To reserve a campsite or cabin: http://tuscazoar.org/reservations/. Note: campsite fees will be adjusted to $0 after the reservation is completed.
