The Tuscarawas County Historical Society is holding its annual Winter Banquet on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center at 425 Prospect Street in Dover.  The event will begin at 6 pm.  The menu will include two meat entrees, potatoes, a vegetable and dessert.  The cost for the dinner and program is $20.  Reservations can be made by sending your name, address, and phone number along with attendees’ names and payment to: The Tuscarawas County Historical Society; P. O. Box 462; New Philadelphia, OH  44663 by Saturday, October 30.

At this year’s banquet, the Tuscarawas County Historical Society will wrap up the celebration of its 100th Anniversary of its founding in 1921.  History will come alive with a presentation by Society Board Member and Historic Schoenbrunn Village volunteer Seth Angel.   Seth will address the Society’s founding and the research leading to the recreation of Schoenbrunn Village, and how the Moravian Mission came to be located in Tuscarawas County in 1772.  The Society will have photo displays of the rebuilding of the village in the 1930s, maps, and information regarding the process.
