Annual Christmas Bird Count

Join The Wilderness Center Staff and Bird Club volunteers for the Annual Christmas Bird Count!

The Christmas Bird Count is a national community science project organized by the National Audubon Society. Since Christmas Day in 1900, this event has provided valuable data on bird populations, helping scientists track long-term trends and understand how bird populations are affected by environmental changes.

Bird watching from the wildlife observation room, as well as self- and staff-guided hikes will be happening throughout the day. We’ll be keeping a Christmas Bird Count tally board going in the Cardinal Room. Come on out to TWC and join in the fun!
