Foster Care Presentation

June 12th, 6:30pm
Dover Public Library
525 N Walnut St, Dover, OH 44622

“Even though life doesn’t always go according to plan, it quite often ends up the way it’s supposed to go,” says Cathy Ballinger Brown, current foster care marketer for The Village Network, a nonprofit organization helping youth and families become resilient, healthy and have brighter futures. The program, titled “Why Didn’t Life Come with an Instruction Manual?” will be held on Wednesday, June 12 at 6:30 PM at Dover Public Library.

Ballinger Brown admits that she has learned a lot from her life experiences and she has put that experience to good use in order to be a positive influence in the lives of others. Ballinger Brown will give a foster sibling’s perspective on foster care and how it ended up being her life passion!

Cathy Ballinger Brown grew up in a small farming community and thought she had life all figured out. Shortly after graduating from the Ohio State University, she married the love of her life, had two children and became a Special Education teacher. Cathy became a single mom when she lost her husband to colon cancer. After co-founding a cancer resource organization in Wooster, she discovered her true passion was helping children. She has found her niche working with The Village Network.

This program will be held on Wednesday, June 12 at 6:30 PM in the Community Room at the library, located at 525 N. Walnut Street, Dover.  Register online at www.doverlibrary.org/events or call the library at 330-343-6123.
