History of the Postboy murder

Storyteller Chris Hart will kick off the series on Tuesday, April 7 when he tells us about the Postboy murder, when, in September of 1825, a young mail carrier was ambushed and killed just south of Newcomerstown. Hart will portray the mailman’s traveling companion who was falsely accused. He will recount his efforts to prove his innocence and the massive manhunt that led to justice being served.

Dover Public Library will host a series of four programs that highlight local historical events. The series will be held every Tuesday during the month of April. Each program will begin at 6:30 PM in the community room at the library, located at 525 N. Walnut Street.
