Playing Irish music with a “dare you to sit still” fervor for 20 years now, The Drowsy Lads’ connection actually goes back much farther. The lineup includes two brothers, a father and son, and a web of lifelong friendships, and you can hear those bonds in every sizzling reel and joyous singalong. Headlining festivals and packing out theaters with high-energy performances that earned them honors as 2018’s Best Irish-American Band, the Lads continue to be one of the genre’s must-see live acts. This is spirit-lifting, body-moving, hell-of-a-good-time music, and it’s never sounded more alive.
