“Then Sings My Soul: Beloved Hymns & Songs Inspired by the Ministry of Billy Graham” all started because of a great love for hymns, their histories, and a deep respect for the ministry of Billy Graham. When researching the project, writer Kat Prickett was floored when she learned just how many hymns were “made famous by” or were written by those saved at the Billy Graham Crusades. Having grown up watching Graham’s Crusades on television and listening to George Beverly Shea on cassette tape, Kat knew she wanted to one day write a program about hymn histories. When Mr. Graham passed away in February of 2018, God lit that desire on fire. What started as a Sunday of performances in The Barn at Kat’s family business, The Red Caboose Motel in Strasburg, Pennsylvania in August of 2018, has now grown in to a program that’s traveled nationally, with countless people having been blessed by these great hymn stories and the message of Billy Graham.

Then Sings My Soul is an original hour and ten-minute musical presentation, and features professional vocalists and live music accompaniment from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Highlighting historical moments in Reverend Graham’s ministry, the program includes a look at the history behind over 30 of some of the most famous hymns – many of which were written as a result of tragic and trying circumstances. Featuring favorites such as How Great Thou Art, I’d Rather Have Jesus, This Ole’ House, His Eye is on the Sparrow, and Amazing Grace, there are even a few old-fashioned hymn sing-a-longs, just like in the “good old days”!

Then Sings My Soul has had the privilege of performing at incredible venues across Pennsylvania; locations in New Jersey like the historic Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove, and at Dollywood Theme Park and the DreamMore Resort in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. They were also featured in an online article on the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association website titled “Honoring Billy Graham: Hymn Singers Tell a Story that ‘Needs to be Told.’”

In today’s modern world, where organs, pews, and hymnals are practically a thing of generations past, we seek to not just entertain audiences, but educate them on hymns and their rich history, share the Gospel message, and honor the memory of Billy Graham, whose life mission was to let people know that, “God loves you.”
