The Overview of Prehistory and Early Contacts Between Cultures

The Warther Museum is excited to welcome Dr. Tom Grove who will be presenting “The Overview of Prehistory and Early Contacts between Cultures” on October 14th at 1pm. Dr. Grove will also share his experiences on digs and focus on Northeastern Ohio. He is also going to discuss artifacts from Mooney’s collection as well as others in the Warther Family Collections. Select artifacts will be on display during the program. Dr. Grove has research interests in late prehistoric and early first contact. His primary research interests have included prehistory and early history of Northeastern Ohio. After years in management, higher education administration and teaching, alongside archeological work, he has retired. His bachelor degree is in Sociology, graduate degrees in Education (M. Ed.) and Organization Development and Change (Ed. S.), and a Ph.D. in Environmental Archaeology. In terms of archaeological focus, he is experienced on ice age cultures and climate change, including stone tools, geoarchaeology, and zooarchaeology.
