Who You Gonna Call: Ghost Busting the Depot

October 24th, 7:00pm
Dennison Depot Railroad Museum
400 Center St, Dennison, OH 44621

Have you ever wondered about the ghosts of the Dennison Depot? Join on Thursday, October 24th at 7pm in the evening in the Streetside Center across from the Depot for a supernatural storytelling experience from our Executive Director, Wendy Zucal. Speaking from her experience of over three decades of working at the Depot and with the historic artifacts, she will recount stories shared from Depot visitors, employees and her personal encounters. After the program, guests will be invited inside the Depot for an after-hours walkthrough of the Museum on “ghost time.” Refreshments will also be served.

The ghostly tales of the Depot are intriguing to many visitors who want to hear the stories of the suspicious sightings and encounters. Museum Director Wendy Zucal shares, “We are constantly being asked about our ghosts by people who are interested to hear the stories, and we are hesitant to share them or have ghost hunting events because it regularly makes the ghosts more active. For this reason, we no longer have professional ghost hunters in the Depot. This event will be one of our rare moments where we tell our ghost stories and invite visitors into the building.” Zucal shares that she quickly learned that there is “staff time” and “ghost time”, and the ghosts do not like staff interfering with their time. The Dennison Depot, built in 1873, is 151 years old and has survived a great deal of history: Two World Wars, the Industrial Revolution, the Great Depression, the Railroad Strike, and major cultural and social changes that impacted our country. Hence, the Depot is the home for multiple ghosts who have hung around, ranging from the children in the model train room, to the soldier in the Hospital Car to the typist in the office or the red flannel gentlemen in the lobby. And many more. Zucal will share stories and experiences from many ghosts, as well as experience with professional ghost hunters who conducted paranormal investigations at the Depot.

This event is for guests 12 years and older. Tickets can be purchased for $20 each online. Museum Members are able to get tickets for a discounted rate of $15. Contact
