Wilderness Center Night Hike

The Wilderness Center hosts a nighttime hike on November 11th at 7:00pm. Registration required for all attendees age 5 and over.  $10 per person. Click here to register and learn more, or call the Wilderness Center at 330-359-5235.

The night is alive at The Wilderness Center! Observe nocturnal wildlife undisturbed as we visit different habitats, experiencing the night with nature-friendly nightlights. Learn the importance of the dark sky to wildlife and humans alike as you reconnect with nature on a roughly 1-mile hike that engages your lesser used senses.

Following the hike, observe the wonders of our dark skies through our telescopes in the TWC observatory. Be inspired by all the night sky has to offer: constellations, craters on the Moon, the rings of Saturn, stellar nurseries, galaxies, and more. If cloudy, we will explore the same night sky in the TWC planetarium instead of using the telescopes.

Bring your red-light flashlight – white lights are not allowed on the trails at night. Don’t have a red-light flashlight? Bring your flashlight and we can make it red for you.  Hiking boots and weather appropriate attire are recommended.
