Honoring the Military Veterans of our City and County

Events have been planned this week to honor New Philadelphia’s and Tuscarawas County’s military veterans. Beginning on Wednesday, the Vietnam War Memorial Traveling Wall will be on display at the VFW Post 1445 on Park Avenue NW. According to Post Chaplain Jerry Chenevey, the Traveling Wall will be open for public viewing through 3pm on Sunday, November 14th.
A dedication of the Traveling Wall will be included in the City’s Veterans Day events on Thursday, November 11th. The day will begin with the annual Veterans Day ceremony at 11am on the Courthouse quadrant downtown. The Traveling Wall dedication will be held at 1:30 pm at the VFW post. I encourage all New Philadelphia residents to join me in honoring our military veterans this week. Thank them for their service to America.
